Local Testimony 2024
We are happy to announce that the Local Testimony and World Press Photo 2024 exhibitions will open at Muza – Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv on December 24 2024.
The Local Testimony website will open for uploading photos on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, and will close at midnight on Saturday , August 31, 2024.
The competition is open to photo-journalists, documentary photographers, and professional artists, who are holders of press cards or whose work has been published in print and/or online media during the last year. Artists who have exhibited their work in solo or group exhibitions in contemporary art museums or galleries during the last four years are also invited to participate.

The categories of Local Testimony 2024:

News – Major current events covered in the main media channels. This category is only open to photographers with press cards.

Religion and Faith – faiths, customs, rituals and ceremonies.

Society and Community – ways of life and struggles of diverse communities living in the local reality.

Urbanism and Culture – art, design, architecture and street photography

Sports – professional, competitive and amateur sports – athletes and their fans

Nature and the Environment – photographs of nature, flora and fauna, alongside issues that relate to ecology and preservation of the environment.

Long Exposure – a photo-narrative which has had time and documentary depth dedicated to it, creating an individual, expressive visual language. A series in this category should include 15 photographs.

Video – video works and short video clips that have appeared on social networks, produced between 2023 and 2024, that fall in line with the contest’s categories. The length of a submitted video should not exceed 7 minutes, and the file’s weight should not exceed 200 MB.
Video creators should register for the contest by 31.8.2024. The deadline for submission is 5.9.2024.
The films will be transferred through websites that transfer large files to: info@edutmekomit.co.il or as a link. The participants will add a short description of the video that will not exceed 30 words.
Make sure that the file name is your name in English, in Latin characters.
Cash Prizes for the Winners:
Prizes to a total value of ₪45,000 will be awarded to the prize-winning photographers, as follows:

An additional ₪15,000 prize will be awarded in memory of Roee Idan, RIP, courtesy of the Union of Journalists in Israel.

All participating photographers will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog and a certificate of participation.
